Did you know that a Walk-Through-The-Bible-type training exists in the language (Sango) and culture of the Central African Republic? Well, it does, and most orphans in PHC’s sponsorship branch are very proficient at the hand motions that go through the entire storyline of the Old Testament.
But orphans in the church-based orphan schools branch of our program (called Hand-in-Hand orphan schools) have not yet benefitted from this powerful discipleship tool. Why? Because their teachers have not yet received the training.
All that changed this week when Hand-in-Hand orphan school teachers from all around the C.A.R. met in Bossembele to receive four days of intense Bible training. When they return to open school in early October, this Bible literacy training will become an integral part of their classroom teaching.
PRAY that God will use this training to transcend mere Bible knowledge, that it will become a strong spiritual anchor for both teacher and student as it is used in the classroom this school year.
